Since the start of the war in Ukraine and the resulting high demand, particularly in the private customer segment, an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 new businesses have been added. The providers in this market range from sole proprietors who install photovoltaic systems as a side business to established engineering offices and electrical master companies that have specialized in the solar industry.
As of the beginning of 2024, the demand for solar systems in the private customer segment for systems up to about 10 kWp has returned to the level it was at before the war started. Despite the stable demand, the number of installation companies remains high.
Choose Reliability, Professionalism, and Quality
When selecting the right solar installation company, reliability, professionalism, and quality should be the top priorities. Online reviews often provide valuable insights into the experiences of other customers.
To help guide you and assist in making the best decisions in the solar trade market, we have created a checklist. This serves as a guide and support when you decide to purchase a solar system.


1. Local Provider
Is it a local provider? How far is the distance to the location?
Local contractors feel more committed to their customers.
2. Reviews
How is the company rated on the internet and how many reviews does the company have?
Are the reviews meaningful and from real customers?
3. References/ Experience
Does the provider have references and existing customers nearby?
Does the provider have many years of experience in the market to optimally implement your system?
4. Free On-Site Appointments / Independence
Does the provider offer personal, free on-site appointments and consultations, or is the sales process only conducted through video calls?
Does the provider offer manufacturer-independent planning?


5. Subsidies and Expertise
Does the company have up-to-date information on funding opportunities (federal/state/municipal) and proven expertise regarding legal regulations?
6. Yield and profitability
Is an individual yield and profitability calculation conducted, based on an accurate and digital initial planning?
7. Offer
Is every item in the offer described in detail?
8. Materials & Warranty Provider
Where does the material come from, and who is the warranty provider? Is the company’s headquarters located within the EU?


9. Customer-oriented payment terms
Does the company offer customer-oriented payment terms and flexible billing options (no full advance payments)?
10. Certifications
Does the provider have the relevant certifications from the manufacturers, especially the storage manufacturers?
11. Installation
Does the provider install and mount the systems themselves, or do they exclusively use subcontractors?
12.Engineering office / Master craft business
Is it an engineering office/master craft business or a pure sales company?


13.Service
Does the provider offer a service in case of a malfunction?
14.Financing and Insurance
Is financing and/or insurance service offered?
